BIG news!
I'm at the point right now where I'm pretty damn sure that all of this is actually going to happen, so it's time to get blogging. Also, I'm way too excited to keep it to myself anymore.
I'm moving to California.
Are you still there? Still breathing? I did actually stop breathing for a few minutes when I heard about the opportunity. Rick wants me to work at another portfolio company that just happens to be in California, so I'm packing up my bags and going. It's that simple. The timing couldn't have actually worked out better if I had tried to plan it, after just having ended a 5 year relationship (again) and the lease on my apartment coming to an end at the beginning of March. So I'll be leaving PlanetEye for now, travelling for about a month and then heading over to start with the folks at MusicIP.
I keep having these massive back-and-forth moments between sheer, absolute panic and just chilling out, thinking about how cool this is going to be, not worrying much about anything, with the idea that everything will just work itself out. That part of me might end up getting me into a lot of trouble :)
Did I mention that I'm going to Thailand? That's the travelling that I'll be doing. It was next on my world travel list, and the flight from LAX is considerably cheaper than from Toronto, so I'm taking off in a week or two.
How much does life ROCK right now!?!?

Maybe you could change your blog name to “Adventures Between La Canada and Ontario”, because it looks as though MusicIP is located about halfway between them. California seems to lack only a Toronto.
I don’t envy people in San Francisco and the Valley their weather, but Southern California, ah, that’s different. No more parkas and boots for you!
Thanks for all the comments, my favourite was the "traitor" one. I do feel like a bit of a traitor, but how do you argue with the difference in climate?
The blog name will likely change again, if you remember it did start as "Adventures in Europe"...
